Well that said on the “Fringe” (there are lots and lots of pixs to share but not enough space to put them. Thought my grandkids would enjoy Grandma with a “STORM TROOPER”!
We are now on the “Edinburgh Military Tattoo”! and the special package that you can get when ordering tickets! I knew this would be one of the highlights of the trip for Bruce so decided that since we are spending our two kids inheritance we would do it up in style. We spent the day of the 16th down on Prince Street trying to find and finally finding a camera store! Checked the phone online and tried the first one and their phone # was “not a working number”! Then we decided to check out the address, got lost on some hilly streets (needless to say Bruce was not a happy camper), got back to the hotel finally ask one of the staff and he said that the best was Currys on Prince street. We headed down there to see if we could get a battery for one of my camera (we are doing this because Peg in her infinite wisdom “forgot the charger for this camera” at home and she certainly cannot run home and get it!). We finally found Currys, along with a Drug Store (Peg blew her hair curler on the 1st day!) for a curling iron and Bruce could get the throat med he needed for sore throat! Currys says they do not have chargers for that particular camera but they could CHARGE it up for me for 5 pounds! The only saving grace after 4 hours on Prince St is that we found a “STARBUCK” and what a find! Right next to the camera store and it faces the Edinburgh Castle. Latte, Castle, Camera Store, Drug store. I will not go to the Tattoo this night without looking my best with all my camera gear and stoked with Starbucks! What else could a girl ask for!!! We made the hotel in plenty of time (Not really) to dress for dinner at the Edinburgh Castle in the Jacobite room and then treated to a few songs from two pipers from the Tattoo, great Scottish style dinner, and taken across the draw bridge to our premier seats! It was a fantastic show and evening! Met some new friends and exchanged email address to be able to stay in touch. Below are some pictures of the day!
Narella and Husband Anthony from Austrailia – they rented out their house and are on the last leg of a 9 month adventure around the world! my kind of people.

Now Bruce was not looking forward to the evening due to it was ONE of THREE cultural events he has to do every year! We were signed up to take the “Literary PUB Tour” which took place at 7:30 pm at the “BeeHive Inn” on GrassMarket Street in Edinburgh. I absolutely enjoyed the tour and the two actors that took us were delightful! It is a walking tour of several Pubs and up and down Edinburgh streets but at each stop they would do stories of historical events on poets and writers from the area. I cannot share pictures of this event but I can tell you that if you ever make it to Edinburgh this is ONE tour you should take. It is funny, historical, and very well played. AND to top it all off BRUCE SURVIVED!!!
I am going to sign off for tonight! Tired but still lots of tales to tell and stories to write! You all take care and we love and miss you. I hope you all are enjoying the photos and all cause I am getting no comments back! Lets here from you all too this is not a one way street! Love ya!
Love, Peg, Mom, and Grandma
